At Ergomotion we have been busy developing new products to add and compliment
to our existing range of motiondesk™ and motiontv™ products. In this Autumn
addition of our newsletter we highlight these new additions; the
motiondesk™-DL6, the motiondesk™2-DL9, an anti-collision dongle for the
motiondesk™s and an IR remote for the motiontv™.
Technical
details on these products have been added to our website as well as a video

has been specifically designed to allow users to easily, quickly and
effortlessly adjust their desks, at the touch of a button, to suit
themselves, in both the sitting and standing positions, thereby reducing
OH&S risks. Being able to stand and work during the day not only allows
the user to change their posture but also increases productivity and morale
in the work place. Standing has been found to increase blood circulation
through the body and alleviate back, neck and wrist pains that are usually
associated with sitting for prolonged periods of time.
The
motiondesk™-DL6 & DL9 have some unique features not seen before in any
other electric desks on the market.
These desks are the only electric adjustable desks that have a minimum desk
height of 600mm while still offering an adjustment of 650mm (600-1250mm
from the floor).
This minimum height and large adjustment range exceeds the requirements set
down in the Australian Standards for height adjustable desks.
The custom made frames of the desks are Ergomotion’s speciality -
they allow the electric desks to blend in with the original fit out.

The remote control is an infrared (IR) option that allows the user to
interface the remote with a universal remote control, thereby reducing the
amount of remote controls needed in an AV room.
The remote has a small clear IR receiver that is easily surface mounted to
the furniture.
Power for the receiver is taken from the motiontv™ control box, thereby also
reducing the amount of plug points required.
The original RF remote is still available for customers who prefer this
option.

This new option for the motiondesk™ reduces the risk of a collision when the
desk is moving.
To enable
the anti-collision function a little plug, called a dongle, must be mounted
in one of the two control ports in the control box. The function is only
active when the dongle is mounted.
When the desk is operating, the control box monitors the current
consumption in each leg using a special algorithm.
If the current consumption on one channel is increased more than a
predefined slope a collision is assumed and all channels are stopped
immediately and all legs will start to run in the opposite direction
(approx. 50 mm).
This return drive is done automatically and continues with or without any
control panel key pressed. The anti-collision sensitivity is set
differently for upwards and downwards direction
